2023/24 Amadou Onana

Hearing lots of people online say we should sell Onana this summer to stay afloat.

No chance. He’s like two players in there. If we gotta sell then we sell Pickford and McNeil, give the gloves to Virginia and use a loan to replace McNeill.
Selling Pickford and McNeil would barely give us enough money to pay for Beto and Chermo.

People need to accept that Onana and Branners will both be sold and there is zero point even thinking either will be here in September.

How is he like two players in there? I’m still waiting for him to prove he can do one man’s job, he’s a part time player in every game he plays, what did he do yesterday coming on for half a game, apart from standing still marking no one just two feet away from Dunk who scored Brighton’s goal.

Bewildering comment. He was receiving the ball, driving forward and distributing well. As he always does these days. His part time days were last season.
He does two or three good things, nothing special but his fans hold on to this and ignore his bad passes, failed tackles and still ambling around in and out of the game, yesterday and most games this season, last season as well, still waiting for him to grab the game by the neck and take it over, all I hear is he’s going to be a great player in the future and I keep replying what about now, when is he starting to show now what he will supposedly do in the bleedin’ future.

They walked through our midfield first half. We looked much better when he came on.

Out of the cm he is the one who can control games agree with you he does need to take gwmes by the neck. Is a big chance here if he does want a move to step up control games and get his move to a so called big club.

He completely changed the game yesterday. Open your eyes.

We look so much more composed with the ball when he is on the pitch. He wins tackles, headers and keeps the ball moving.

Imagine expecting a player to make 100% 'good' passes and win every tackle in a game, and using the fact he doesn't as a stick to beat him with.

I suppose you think he's lazy as well?

Against Palace he came on and changed the whole dynamic through the middle by just getting on the ball and moving it forward sharp, scored one and if not for Tarks taking it off his head couldve well scored the winner. He done the same when brought on against Brighton without the goal, for me he's head and shoulders above Gana and Garner and unless not fully fit there's no excuse for Dyche not to start him every game

I'm noticing in all the player threads recently that there's just abundant hyperbolic attacks , nothing wrong with a pointed and measured critique, but now it's just this player is abysmal or the worst blah blah, the squad is flawed I get it but constant toxicity is exasperating

Tik Tok generation unfortunately. Completely devoid of the ability to be central in thought. Either black or white in understanding. Lots of Daily Mail readers have this as well.
