any food recommendations in DC? Specifically in the Adams Morgan-Dupont Circle areas, but I may be able to get further away especially if the food is good.

OK, both of my recommendations are in the Penn Quarter/Chinatown area (near the Capital One arena) but are both definitely worth it.
1) Rasika—excellent Indian restaurant
2) Zaytinya- this is one of Jose Andres’ restaurants. They do mezze—small plates of middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food. Similar to a tapas concept

My wife and I used to have season tickets for the Shakespeare Theatre Company so have a lot more experience dining in that part of town

I walk a lot in Austin when I visit there, but Austin is really dense in the walkable areas. And I don't mind walking New Orleans (sweat dependent). Seems like DC is walkable also, but it's been a while since i've visited.

BTW, my report on San Diego, someone recommended Richard Walker's pancake house and it was very good. And I really enjoyed Taka (sushi) on 5th, the best sushi I've had in the US.

I’ve only been to the Penn Quarter one but it should be the same. The one on M Street is very close to St. Matthew’s Cathedral— worth a look if you have some time.
