American Food

OK, both of my recommendations are in the Penn Quarter/Chinatown area (near the Capital One arena) but are both definitely worth it.
1) Rasika—excellent Indian restaurant
2) Zaytinya- this is one of Jose Andres’ restaurants. They do mezze—small plates of middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food. Similar to a tapas concept

My wife and I used to have season tickets for the Shakespeare Theatre Company so have a lot more experience dining in that part of town

Can't remember if I updated you from these recommendations. Tried the Rasika West End and it was enjoyable but very different from the type of Indian I am used to eating. Next trip up there staying East End so will see about Zaytinya if I can manage it. If you have any other recommendations I'll take a look as well. Last year saw a bar Prost in that area that catered to German beers so I may head back that way but generally if the weather is fine and I can walk I'll try it out.

How was it? I’ve never been.
I’ll be in the city Sunday night and might check it out

I've never been to USA, I have however stopped over in Atlanta airport en route to somewhere else and my 2 - 3 hours in the food court convinced me it's probably the next place I should visit.

I found a place called Arby's, a lot of travelling americans tell me it's not got that good a reputation...

But this is what I bought ....

that's the angus three cheese and bacon

and it was pretty sweet, but I'm sure there's probably better out there

so please, fellow travellers and North American foodies, make me hungry ...
American diets will make you incredibly fat...swerve and have a Maccies every so often.

Actually didn’t visit! Was walking back from the Capitol and my feet were tired and my bag was ill suited to carry and I probably should have stopped for three drinks and an Uber!! Looked nice though, so one of us will visit and inform the other.

I did try a place north of DuPont called Sakuramen and it’s commendable but I presume most ramen joints are good.

Probably won’t make it there this weekend—I’ll be at DAR Constitution Hall which is closer to the White House.

There used to be a great place called Brickskeller- unreal selection of good German beers
