American Food

Yeah, food trucks is defo the way out here. Stopped in the little town of Hana after the eponymous and infamous 'drive', and there's about 10 parked up just outside of town. Had a magnificent Thai combo box, crisp fried pork belly and coconut crusted mahi mahi, which was outrageously good. 18 quid and it would shame most restaurants.

Hiya pal what is your favourite American dish.

That's a good question and I'm not sure. In a former life I loved boiled crawfish and crawfish étouffée, but I can't eat shellfish any longer.

I love some fried catfish and hush puppies. That's like the Southern Yank version of fish and chips. And gumbo (chicken and sausage only, no shrimp or crawfish) is a delicacy. Red beans and rice also a local favorite.

I enjoy some good tacos, although not as much as most. A good burger is always welcome but po-boy is a mean sandwich and I do love a rueben or good corned beef. It's hard to beat a good Yank breakfast. And my favorite on that list is maybe chocolate chip cookies.

Have to say that none of that sounds appetising or healthy.

BBQ is unquestionably the best true Yank food but since I've learned Brits call anything cooked on a grill "barbecue" I simply don't argue with food neanderthals any longer
Well mate see the thing is that it's a cooking style, not a type of food, and how you prepare it differs from how a lot of others prepare it (although Amercan BBQ is quite honestly pretty great).

The list also includes things that are blatantly not American, and it even notes it down, which is hilarious in my opinion at least.
