I mean if the Club announced liquidation tomorrow I would be very sad for a week at least. Then I'd move on in my life and not have to endure the stress of leading 2-0 in the 90th minute only to be heartbroken again.

The biggest loss for me would be your chubby arse and a bunch of fun people who've entertained me for over a decade on here.

Horrible club.

I envy Bury fans.

Without trying to be edgy here, they just don’t get it like we do. They make all the right noises and wear the gear and stay up late to watch games but it’s too easy for them to just walk away, they’re not as emotionally connected as we are... the losses don’t hurt as much and the winning isn’t as euphoric. You can’t just wake up one day when you’re 25 and decide you’re gonna pick a premier league team to support because you like the soccerball.... it’s got to be in your blood ffs.

Lol

Oh God imagine being able to just turn around and say "Nar, Everton isnt for me, IM OUT", I would pay anything for that.

Like being locked in @Dylan 's submarine for the last 13 years. Getting out isn't an option. He's above water impregnating half the world, and you're chained to your computer telling men off for saying bad words.

I hope you aren't suggesting American fans gloryhunt as a rule. The younger generations (which I'm a part of so don't make this out to be some boomer thing) might be more prone to jumping around, but the larger percentage of fans overall live and die with the teams they've grown up with. Often those teams are from their hometown or their family's hometown too. Especially in the NFL. Even the gloryhunters tend to stick with the team once they get hooked on. That's why the Cowboys are still the most popular despite being closer to the bottom than the top this century.

To be fair, supporting a team in America is a joke anyway. When you have the ability to uproot an entire sports team and move it across the country local loyalty doesn’t mean anything.

You spelled "doesn't provoke a non-specific feeling of dread because every piece of fortune must be paid for by the pound and everything always comes up Everton in the end" wrong.

Happy to help.

Most fans don't keep supporting the team when they move. To them the local loyalty does matter.

Am I the senior American on here?

I sincerely hope not. Better me than that right wing nut job from Texas. Bill lost his damn mind watching Fox and listening unopposed rhetoric on AM radio for hours on end.

What the heck ever happened with @icburns?
You may very well be so. I joined in 2011 and you were already here. Haven’t been able to log on often with family obligations over the past couple years, but have gradually been back over the last few months.

"It's got to be in your blood" is the new "This means more" in the fast paced, highly competitive realm of overwrought footy mystification.

What ever happened to TXBill? (I assume that’s who you’re talking about)
