I dont even like tea, but we can never forgive.
He's currently in the backroom being force fed episodes of It 'Aint Half Hot Mum.
But the allegiance is to Baltimore. The loyalty is to the football team in our city regardless of what they're called. In between we also had a USFL team and a CFL team (won titles in both too, only place to do it in 3 leagues) and they were supported just the same. Because no one is really paying attention to what they're called just where they are from.
It really is no different than Wimbledon FC and AFC Wimbledon in support, just that Americans brand their teams different so the new team often can't keep the old name and colors.
I talk about Baltimore because it is what I know, but I'm sure it's the same for the Texans in Houston or the Wild in Minnesota and it will be the same for whatever basketball team ends up in Seattle. The names change, the support and passion doesn't.
This is a misunderstanding of Yank geography, culture, etc. But in essence, moving a team is the same as Bury shutting down. It's an admission of failure, or blame at least on the fanbase. When a club moves it "dies," which is why people in Baltimore support the Ravens and hate the Colts.
I honestly do think that is exactly what would happen. You wouldn't all go support the RS or Tranmere right? Even if it took a few years for a new team to be established, I'd think the Everton community would come back to allegiance with the new club.Well that’s what I’m trying to say, they’re different sports teams in my eyes. Supporting Baltimore Colts and then just swapping allegiance to Baltimore Ravens is weird even if you’re a Baltimore local.
Hypothetical example: if Everton FC suddenly effed off and we got a team from London move their squad, back room staff, changed colours and got a new stadium but called themselves Everton United do you think current Everton fans will just switch to following them? As that’s what happened in Baltimore as an example.

You follow RBL pretty closely. They've had no problems getting a fan base behind them despite ripping up the club they bought and turning them in to something new.
I know it's been a long long time, but isn't that essentially how every sports team starts? Once upon a time someone decided to start a football club called Everton too.Personally I would await an Everton phoenix club to start up and I also have my local team that I support. I’d never support a team that just got plonked in the city.

I mean I envy England's culture that has allowed for clubs to exist relatively straight through 150 years as a continuous entity. But that doesn't mean a team that's existed for 20 years can't have strong, loyal support.
Actually, you've got it backwards and what happened in Baltimore is the same as what happened with AFC Wimbledon. Ravens are a new team native to the city, not a transplant. If you want to call out the plastics, talk to people from Indiana.
It's just so bizarre to me. I mean if it were a criticism of the owners or the leagues I'd get that, but to criticize the fans because their teams move away sometimes I really just don't understand at all.Not really haha. A club emerges somewhere there hasn’t been one before.
We’ll never see eye to eye on this I just find it the main reason I don’t respect sport in America.
Unless I read it wrong the Ravens were the Browns squad and back room staff A.K.A. a transplant.
