It's not a zero sum game yo. Just because it's different or complex doesn't mean all Yanks are plastics. Now maybe all Yanks are ill-tempered, gun-toting, micro-peen meatheads, but how you connect the dots from this to disloyal, front-running, ignorant pricks is beyond me.

Well I didn’t suggest any of the bold so you’re just chatting nonsense and I won’t be replying further.

Yes, as in the owners don’t care about local loyalty hence they move teams...

Back to what I said earlier... also, I think if you spent more time with Yanks you'd understand it more. Big difference too between college sports loyalty and pro sports loyalty, although some cities/teams (specifically what @canuckblue mentioned) have their own unique character that spans the typical distinctions. Something native to US culture and pro sports is supporting the local team where you live vs where you're from. For instance, if you grew up in Missouri and a Chiefs fan but took a job in New York, you won't stop supporting the Chiefs just because you also support your new local team (this dual support would never cross over rivalries, however), and in some cases people who are transplants switch primarily allegiance after a *long* time (like their kids grow up Giants fans), but the same can't be said for college sports. You don't stop being a *Nebraska fan because you work with retards from Penn State or Notre Dame.

This is a misunderstanding of Yank geography, culture, etc. But in essence, moving a team is the same as Bury shutting down. It's an admission of failure, or blame at least on the fanbase. When a club moves it "dies," which is why people in Baltimore support the Ravens and hate the Colts.

*Not that people from Missouri go to Nebraska, but let's just take for granted that people from Missouri go to college in the first place, so maybe we shouldn't wade deep into the weeds here

Moving to the London stadium is about as comparable as you can get there and that was like 5 mins away.
As someone mentioned before though, moving in Europe isn't really possible. Kroenke however does not give a single f about Arsenal supporters and if getting into a European Super League meant moving away from Chelsea and Spurs or something similar, he would absolutely do it. Just something to think about.

US fan culture is ways more complex than England because of the variety of sports, college vs pro and other issues. Saying you have no respect because of one thing is unfortunate.

I guess US fans are used to the franchise system over there but I tend to agree, if Everton were moved and replaced with another team then I wouldn't be able to support them and my support would go to the grassroots club of whatever level that would be undoubtedly created even if it was in a pub league.

But that's the culture of the UK I think, the club you support is the full history and not just the present team and its location.

I don't disparage US footy fans in any way and I'm sure a lot of them are as angry as UK fans are when a franchise moves. In the UK the thought is just abhorrent though, with Wimbledon even though they were a small club by top division standards every football fan from every club I know was shocked and disgusted by it even if they didn't care very much.

I think, or I would like to believe that if the same thing happened for Everton that new club would die a death very quickly because it would be an imitation of a club with no emotional ties to the city or its people. But I hope I never have to find that out.

It's probably worth understanding the "subtle" differences to understand the end product. College vs Pro. The draft. No relegation or admission of any team outside of league approval. Stadium funding as public finance. All of these play huge roles in how the leagues are structured and run. It's not really an apples to apples comparison, so then it's natural to think that oranges taste different.

*totally forgot about salary cap and revenue sharing

That is still more often than not untrue. But in one case it definitely was, the Rams, it also applies to the PL. So there is that.
Unless you are talking about that witch that owned us at one point and who moved us out of LA, then I agree.

All Kronke did was move us back home. St. Louis never cared for the Rams not even when they were the greatest show on turf. The attendances had been woeful since they moved there.

The Chargers fit your point more than any other team ever really

NFL is a much fairer league than the Premier league.

The Chargers do fit. But let's not act like Kroenke had any motivation but to move his team to the biggest money making opportunity possible, even if that happened to be where the Rams belonged.

I'd say at least 26 NFL owners would not consider moving their team fwiw.

Kroenke is a douche plain and simple. But hes not stupid. He has owned the land they built the stadium on for a decade or two now. He always had eyes on having a team play there. He saw an opportunity with the Rams. Their owner was old and crying foul so he kept buying in. She then died. The Rams played there already and had a fanbase. Does he nessecarily care about the team no. But dont pretend it's coincidence either.

He would have been happy with any team. In fact the spanos family were annoyed with him becuase he had apparently made a gentleman's agreement with the now dead spanos to have the chargers play in his new stadium. Long before he owned and talked about moving the rams.

But ask the Rams fanbase in LA and they will tell you as much as they are weary off him they are grateful he brought them home.

Anyway I made the point as technically it doesnt for the narrative you were trying to make to nymzee. The chargers do more so than any team since the Baltimore colts.

Yes and the Browns too, that just got fixed quickly.
