Sums up what’s wrong with the fanbase. You’ll know I was one of Carlo’s biggest fans, he is one of the greatest managers in the history of the game, but the second he crapped on us he was dead to me. He screwed the club over and effectively left any new manager with minimal pre season time and no chance with transfers.

The response you get to this varies from ‘yeah but he couldn’t turn down Madrid’ to some insults about worshipping Benitez. The man took a huge dump on Everton football club but fans are on his side for picking another team?

Does my head in this sort of brand of not arsed Everton support. I guess if you make out you’re not bothered by anything at all then you can never be disappointed.
You're agreeing with someone who has constantly said in the Relegation thread that he's "not fussed" if we get relegated.

Probably not the right time to point out that changing manager mid season did nothing for us except lead to more money wasted on a bungled panicked transfer approach

I still believe if we held our nerve Benitez would have had us out of trouble although I can understand the fans who lost faith after the run we were on as I struggled to continue support for him after the Brighton home game.

Its the fans who never gave him a chance from the beginning, the bedsheet bandits and trouble causers on social media and at GP who have blood on their hands if we go down.

They'll spin it that its the fault of fans like us but whatever makes them sleep easier at night I suppose.

Was that the home game when Michael Keane gave up a couple of goals and then DCL missed a penalty to get us back into it? Pretty much summed up the Benitez era, good job that sort of clowning around stopped once he left, oh wait….

One of the all time greats no doubt but he takes a big share of the blame for how this season has gone with him leaving us in the lurch last minute.

Stroked our fans collective cocks talking about his love of Crosby and wanting to lead us into BMD then goes and betrays us.

Those who worship the bloke still are shameless, put your Carlo Fantastico banners back in the cupboard.
But it's ok to worship Benitez like you?? ?

5 years of mismanagement and scatter gun hiring and firing have caused this.
Added to the long term failure since about 1990 to modernise and adapt to 21st century marketing and scouting.

Would have been great if we got him in 2016 or so when we actually had a lot of money

I will admit i was very annoyed at the back end of last season but it's a hell of a lot better than this

Lets not taint the waters and use phrases such as "worship" mate.

Benitez was Everton Manager - he wasn't my first choice I wanted Galtier but I support the Everton Manager and give them longer than 1 game before calling for their head.

I personally dont think Lampard is good enough but I still supported him from the start whilst others were throwing "Tory" insults around.

there is a lot of cognitive dissonance around the fanbase at the moment.
