Andre Ayew

I’d be made up with that.

Ancelotti did it and it was the best we’ve looked for years. We’re crying out for a solid, rigid back 4 that isn’t trying to be too fancy. Just defend, which is exactly what those 4 will do.

I loved Ancelotti but that was always one thing that confused me with Ancelotti. We moved on from that approach and never quite got anything else to work as well.

I dont have the exact numbers, but we were at 2 points per game ish, and conceding well below a goal a game using it.

I honestly think we are going to have to try something really innovative/mad to stay up.

In slightly contradictory evidence, I actually think Mykolenko may do ok under Dyche. But if it was me, I'd go the route of 4 cbs to start. In the next 2, I might even go with the 5 of them and play a back 5.

Does he? Have yet to see this tbh.

You’re choosing to ignore it then or you’ve missed it it Mike.

Gray takes a dreadful corner and he tastes them all however when he’s been dragged off and replaced by McNeil, which has happened on a regular basis this season, then the quality of corners has consistently improved and good balls have been coming in.

Without trying to sound arrogant… I think if you look for it now and aren’t being blinkered, I reckon you’ll notice he knocks in a lovely ball.

Ayew and Isco. The 5 sub rule surely makes this worthwhile?

They might not be starters, but putting on players to preserve the fitness of key players (especially what strikers we do have) after the hour mark to avoid fatigue will be crucial if Dyche is to make a fist of dragging this club out of the drop zone.

I wouldn't be turning my nose up at any new recruitments, tbh.

Godfrey and holgate as full backs needed to happen weeks ago.

All for it me, Coleman and myko are diabolical

Mykelenko is a good fullback, when he’s asked to do nothing other than defend.

Plus, he hasn’t had much help
from what’s in front of him in on
the wing, so he’s getting over loaded a lot of the time.

Dyche won‘t have him in advanced positions, if he plays him.

Holgate is abysmal at right back

It depends on what you’re looking for…if you’re looking for someone who’ll stay back, defend and protect the box then he’s excellent but you’re not getting much else. He’s shown that in the past here already.

If you’re looking for someone to bomb on, overlap the wingers and create chances with defending not that important then you’re right, he’s abysmal.

I’d personally prefer a right back who can defend first and foremost and I get the impression Dyche will as well.

If that is the case, then he’s found himself a very good, competent right back.

He's a very poor defender and uncomfortable in possession

Everything worth a shot now
