Andre Ayew

Union Berlin are 2nd in the Bundesliga. I suspect they'd want him to be a bit part in their effort to keep in a CL spot.

Even now he's better value than the tripe brought in by the likes of B'mouth and S'ton for decent fees.
I was keeping an eye on that deal on deadline day because we were linked with him when Carlo was our boss.

I heard the deal fell through because he failed his medical.

I do agree the lad has class though.

Edit. Seems he passed the medical and was demanding too much cash as you said.

I just don’t understand the thinking behind this one at all, seems like a complete waste of time and money. Thelwell seems determined to sign a Ghanaian for some reason though, so I’m half hoping it happens because if we get any further down the list we’re going to end up with Matthew from Desmond’s.

Ultimately we have absolutely nothing up top.

Simms is simply not PL standard. Nowhere close. I would love it if the lad gets 2-3 goals but he just isn't there yet.

I'm not saying Ayew is the answer, he's well past it and was never that good anyway. But they do need to do something at this stage, even if just for another option.

We are so, so short. It's criminally bad.

It just makes no sense to me regardless. I struggle to see how a 33 year old who hasn’t played at the top level for 5 years, scored 3 goals in a full season last time he did, and looks pretty unfit, is going to come in and make a difference for us in the next couple of months. It just looks like another rondon situation, with him lumbering round for 3 months blowing out of his arse while the club make excuses for him before someone realises actually this is just how he is now and he’s not going to suddenly bloom once he’s ‘up to match speed’.

Simms isn't ready.

Ayew is crap.

Both can be true, and are.
How do we know simms isn't ready? All I know is he bangs them in anywhere hes on loan and we ain't exactly loaning him out to the conference and then he gets a couple minutes every 5 games when here.

I'd like to see him start and end a couple before making that judgement.

Agreed...

Three ten-minute cameos with no service doesn't tell me anything.
