Just a matter of opinion Friend, but Xmas day when they have family??? Me happen I am old fashioned and think are they are not supposed to be athletes and highly skilled footballers?

Nearly all clubs have a light training session on Christmas Day as most of them have a game the following day.

It's quite simple
Agree a deal now with Barca to sign him at the end of the season and sort out a contract with the player, meanwhile he stays here until his loan finishes.
When his loan expires he automatically goes into his new contract.

Liverpool signed Van dijk on 27th December, he officially moved on Jan 1st.

But as I said that wouldn't be the case here, one day after his loan expires his new contract starts.

Commentators on today’s game said that Barca are unwilling to discuss any deal for Gomes in Jan. In other words they are hoping for a bidding war between clubs in the summer for a massive price hike. Barca love to screw clubs out of every penny they can get.
