Great player no doubting
Problem at the moment is he has to many team mates hiding and offering little.

Sadly I can’t see him hanging about if we continue with the approach Silva is adopting.

Sadly I can’t see him hanging about if we continue with the approach Silva is adopting.

You mean the approach that's seen him find his best form in two years, get back into the Portugal side and has him thriving in the Premier League?

He's been a bit off in the past two games. He's here until the end of the season and I'm pretty sure he'll want to be here past that - we have to make sure of that. But part of us making sure we're in a position to keep him will be him playing at his best and helping us finish where we want to (at the least), which realistically this season is seventh.

Think we'll definitely get Europa this season, if we can get within 3 points of it under big sam then we can get there this year

Disagree, it’s by no means a definite. Big Sams football was horrendous to watch but points wise, it was consistent and about the right level. Silvas approach is far more entertaining, but inconsistent.

Can we please stop this take? Its absurd.

Now since this is the Gomes thread, he was indeed a victim of being outnumbered in midfield, but it was the lack of movement from his teammates that hurt the most. But as good as he is with the ball, he's not especially quick without it.

It was consistent in a 1 point or less way, we couldn't win when we should with him. We're still ironing out the issues with Silva but I think we're definitely going in the right direction considering we have pretty much a new starting 11 and they've only had half a season together. I can only see us improving from here.

There’s arguably only a couple of proper footballers in the team with him in Digne Bernard and Richarlison. The rest of them struggle with basic passing. Watching Coleman Gueye and Walcott trying to start attacks is painful. We need to keep Gomes and surround him with quality.

You only have to look at City when they play Fernandinho De Bruyne and the two Sipvas they look unbeatable. If a couple are missing the rest get swamped and everyone starts looking average. The problems at Everton won’t be sorted until we give Brands a good few windows to clean out some of the losers.

It's a great point. There are very few clubs with true depth. Take Hazard from Chelsea. Fernandinho from Man City - still good but massive difference. Any of Tottenham's starters, really. Salah or VVD from LFC.

What is absurd about it?

Silvas team has demonstrated that it can from awesome performances like Anfield away to absolute car crashes like Spurs at home.

Big Sams football was horrific and I wouldn’t go back to it in a million years, but you knew what you were getting and I don’t expect us to hugely improve on the points tally this year.

Big Sam got a point at Anfield.. Silvas awesome performance got nothing.

Partly due to Gomes missing from a yard out too..

Agreed and I hope you’re right re the improvement

Yeah exactly.

Sometimes grim works. It’s not entertainment and you’ll never see any true progress playing that way, but in terms of short-term points on the board it’s effective.

I've just had a look at BFS results from last season and they don't look consistent to me. Apart from the little run we went on to start with it is very much like this season. We had a lot of easy games and we won the ones expected but away from home we had issues.

Completely 100% objective he's a handsome handsome man

Football wise he's fantastic with the ball, a bit slow without it. His positioning is good tho which helps out with his lack of pace. I Will freely admit I never watched him before here but I recall people mentioning he often shot and scored from outside the box. You rarely see him line up a shot, I'm going to guess because he's more deep than he was in Spain?
