But lets not forget, and whilst not making excuses... this fella has been out for a long period, and has now played every game now without a break since his debut, and I think the least time he's had on the pitch was against Southampton.

It's so obvious he's in need of a rest, and more telling that our depth is absolutely tragic and concerning equally.

He plays 90 minutes a week. Thankfully we are now out of the FA cup so that will actually decrease as well so Andres can keep his fitness levels up.



Explain how playing 1 game a week means he is knackered when he WAS playing for Barcelona who play almost 3 times a week with all the competitions they are in?

800 minutes of football last season, not sure he actually played a full game! Amazing that he can’t handle playing every week for Everhoof.

Was he playing three games a week? Seriously?

I mean, if i'm not mistaken Gomes played 78 times for Barcelona in two seasons. Nearly half of those in the Cup Comps. In the CL last season alone he played 52 minutes over 8 games, and then 90 in one where they'd won the group. He started just 23 games (out of 76) in the league in two seasons. So i'd argue this is Gomes first stretch of starts in at least two years. So yeah, he'll be knackered.

I'm not making excuses for him, but he needs to actually have a rest. The fun part for us now, is after Watford away on 9th Feb, we don't play again until Cardiff on 26th Feb. So that should refresh everyone.

He's soft. I wouldn't buy him based on his mentality. Good player. But weak. We don't need any more like that. We are already infested.
