To be fair to him, and some others, they’ll have not had a schedule quite as hectic as the festive one in England. Will take getting used to.

The top four play almost a festive period week in week out with champions league football. Most of them went far in the efl cup

Efl sides also play most weekday tue/wed and are far less fitter than Prem sides.

There’s no excuse. Is this the same excuse we will make if we played in Europe? Oh wait we did

Tired haha

We don’t play in europe

Knocked out in the 3rd round of the efl cup

Only half way through the season yet the “tired” excuse is pulled

God help us if we ever got into Europe or had a cup run. How would we cope.. pathetic!

Give me 100k a week to kick a football 5 days a week from 10am till midday and sit on a bench at 3pm Saturday afternoon. Tired hahaha unreal

“Tired” is chucked around a lot suggesting the player is knackered, but a more accurate expression would be “not 100% match fit”. Every percentage point counts at this level.

Gomes had been out with injury, had no preseason and few minutes of competitive footie for Barca last season, and that will catch up with you in physical fast leagues like the prem.

In any event, I think it’s more of a confidence than a fitness issue with Gomes at the mo.

I’m just talking about one player not a squad here.

Most of the European leagues go on a winter break, I believe only Serie A played games over Christmas same as Premier League. Gomes has played in the Spanish and Portuguese leagues for Benfica, Valencia and Barcelona so will not have been used to a schedule like we have here before

Winter break in Premier league from next season so shouldn't be an issue in future

I get that they play a lot , but can you imagine Xmas without footy? Granted for us our Xmas holidays would have a lot less depression and swearing as we get beat more often than not, but sitting at home for 2-3 weeks with no footy would be boring .

Andre is so happy here he's taking part in hug-a-thons, he's going nowhere!
Personally, I'm getting fed up with the video PR on the club website.
It's all hugs and kisses.
The training stuff is nonsense too.
Frankly, I'd rather not see a squad of blokes in tights running about.

Just get stuck in FFS.
