He is good in possession which is why he is useful for us. We have no other midfield who can pass like him. His tackle is and ball winning ability is his weakness which is quite obvious. Same could be said about Gana in the opposite way.

Gomes actually is second in the entire league in fouls per game. He's always kind of been that way - partially it's because he's just not that quick and has to at times It would be one thing if he was getting a bunch of tackles or winning the ball back a lot. That's the issue. But maybe he's settling into what we are trying to do tactically. Perhaps.

He is definitely not quick enough, just need to carry the ball sideways a yard or two quicker and he will struggle to mount any meaningful challenge to win it back. The only option left is to rely on his physicality to harass it back, most of the time resulting in fouls.
He is more effective in 50/50 situation but asking him to go one on one with a quicker baller is a nightmare and it’s not difficult to be quicker than him.

Great footballer, even when hes in tight spaces you never fear hes going to lose the ball. If he had a bit more pace he'd be a superstar. Hope we can get a deal for him sorted out.

For some reason some fans cannot accept good footballers at Everton because the positivity of a good player is like a smack in there face so lets find all his negatives no matter how weak they are.
