Player Valuation: £35m
May as well fold as a football club if he actually ends up at Arse or Spurs at this point..

As has been said by me , you and others , but lads continue to panic....the player himself is the key. If he says he only wants to sign for Everton it means the clubs will come to an agreement.
Henry and Vlasic for 25 m eachDefinitely see your "standing still* shout but these guys will get better so they're more of an investment. Honestly think we'll ship out a hell of a lot players this summer. Also fresh blood like Onyekuru and a Vlasic with game time and in the new system will be a beneficial.

More like 10m each tbh.Henry and Vlasic for 25 m each
Add 10m and we have Gomes and Zouma.
However I hope we keep all 4
I think shifting wages will be the problem this summer not transfer fees
Does anyone know how these loans work? Maybe naively I thought EFC would have an option to make the loan permanent agreed when they negotiated the loan? Otherwise you run the risk of simply acting as a shop window for other premier league clubs to see how a player does in this league?
We wanted a try before you buy and that’s perfectly understandable without hindsight. After all, Moyes frequently used this to good effect. They did want him totally gone.Strong rumours that Barca didnt want a loan at first, they wanted rid, but we considered him a massive gamble.
I mean hindsight is wonderful, but imagine if we would have spent 40m on an injured player and he then totally flopped.

Yes I'm not having a go at them for not jumping in, he'd had a very underwhelming time at Barca and the wages are high so however 'cheap' the transfer fee may be this is still a sizeable investment. I think it was an imaginative loan and has to be considered a success overall.
I'm just not comfortable with the idea that EFC bring him over and acclimatise him to English football and then another team swans in and takes him once he's proven himself. It puts the club in a bad light and encourages the idea that it's a stepping stone to a 'big club'. There should be something in the loan contract that makes sure that if EFC want him they get first refusal or a guaranteed price for instance?
If the player himself doesn't want to stay that's another matter. Although I think as far as you can tell from the outside he seems to have settled well here?
Yeah but you cant blame him for wanting to explore all options.
That's maybe naive though.
