Mate, not sure where you get this idea from.
Oh you're on about before hand, my apologies sir.
Well that's not gonna happen when you deal with Barca sadly maybe another club, You'll only get to buy Barca players if they can buy them back.
They basically still hold the cards even if you own the player, game is the game

We dont mate.

The deal was done very late, clearly we couldnt agree on a price.

I think a to of it will have been the player too. There's little way I think Gomes agreed he'd put himself in a position where he had to sign again. He was likely to be more cautious.

As I've said, lets wait and see with the lad. The Spurs move is a fantastic move for any player, but I still think he will stay here.

I'd love to keep him, but not overly bothered either way. He's a little overrated here. The last 3 games Schneiderlin has gone in there and been very very good too, but it's not convenient to say that.

It certainly wouldnt be the end of the world like, I mean hes a VERY good player and it seems like hes available for a decent price.

But if he chooses 3rd place CL final playing Spurs above us, we shouldnt be annoyed, its not like hes binning us off for West Ham or somebody.

He defo not the only stylish midfielder in the world.

Yeah, I'm more worried about replacing Gueye's skillset if he goes. A shame though, Gomes was excellent at times for us

I think that's a bit of stretch re. Morgan tbf. He's looked good, but against Palace for example, we desperately missed Gomes as Palace massed ranks and he is the only player we have at the moment who can pick a pass like that and "pull the strings" from the midfield.

I'm not sure for £30m we'll find anyone at the same level with a comparable skill set, but I'd love to be proved wrong. You'd also hope that Brands had been prepared for this eventuality and has a back or two in his sights.

Even if we had a purchase option attached the player can still say no.

Unpopular opinion but as others have said he wouldnt be a guaranteed starter at Spurs.

Id rather we went after someone that would walk into the Spurs team and beyond.

For £25mil or less hes a good signing but i doubt anyone would have any sleepless nights if Spurs got him for £35mil++

We should be targeting players whose values will double after a season with us, as Richarlisons and Dignes have done.

Sissoko look so much better than him. Fast strong good ball control and willingness to burst forward with the ball at any given opportunity.

I want Gomes back but have we really played any worse with Schneiderlin? I think we can find someone else to play his role pretty easily.

Hugely disappointing this if true. I mean I get Spurs are in a far better place than us currently but he seems to have really fit into life here well this season and has previously hinted that he'd like to stay...
