Re Gomes: what is he actually like as a midfielder? Stats don't look that impressive, but obviously don't tell the whole story.

Only time I watched him was against us and he looked solid, but then again, a lot of players do.

He brings so much to the table other than the stats which only the moneyball American weirdo’s here obsess over. Amazing ball retention (something I never thought I’d appreciate before he came in) and links the midfield to the attack very well with some great long distance passes. He’s the first one we should be re signing, he’s class.

Reckon he’ll end up going on loan to Italy and Brandalf will sort us a nice little replacement from France or somewhere
