Now imagine that only one of those clubs can win it.. how long do you think the fans of Barca , Madrid , juve , beyern could go with not winning a trophy? Imagine Chelsea , Arsenal , Milan , Dortmund getting beat every week and ending up bottom of a league. It just wouldn’t work. If they do try and make their own league and I was the FA I would expel them and let them play in their own league and let these “ big clubs” go years and years without any success and see how long it lasts

Doubt if 6 of the 16 would be English clubs. That aside, the only foreign teams I'd be particularly fussed to go and watch every season would be Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe either AC Milan or Juventus.

I think the figures are all tosh tbh, but if they are, it'll be because barca have made it abundantly clear they want to sell him.

Yes it's a good point. I'm not advocating a move from the Peter Ridsdale school of negotiating. It just struck me as a lowball offer. At times he can look like the sort of player that commands a far higher value.

I guess 'at times' is the key there though?
