West Ham look to have lost out in the race for Andre Gomes having learned that the Barcelona midfielder is keener on Everton than us.
It’s a cruel blow to the Irons where Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos have been trying to persuade him and his advisers that the London Stadium is the best destination.
But it seems that Gomes wants Goodison Park and the Irons will now look at other alternatives they have in place stressing they don’t want to sign players who aren’t over keen on joining the the club.
Earlier today we revealed West Ham increased their bid from £18m to £20m to Barcelona but have been told that the 25-year-old has his heart set on a return to Goodison Park.
A senior club source speaking to Claret and Hugh via email this evening said: “Gomes has chosen Everton ahead of us, so whatever we bid is irrelevant. We do not want players who do not want to come to us, we have alternatives”
