We paid 25m for 5he utterly useless Klaassen.

This lad isn't just an excellent footballer.
He also WANTS to play for the club.

We need more players who will not only improve the quality of football, but who will form a nucleus for us to build a solid team.

That has not really happened since the excellent recruitment from 06 to 09.

£30m not that it will be (and certainly not that up front) is good business for a player who has proven that they can play consistently well and even excel in the premier league. We just need to make sure we actually rotate him and not smash him every single game now.

I’m sure the FM Twitter scouts will have some 19 year old Frenchman with 2 appearances in in the Coupe de France that they’d say things like “quite honestly I’d pay the £80m” about but Gomes is just good business and he actually wants to play for the club.

Anything under 30 million is an absolute steal in the current market, Really surprised other teams aren't interested I think he can be a big talent if he gets a bit more consistent, The lad glides through people

I'd pay up to 40 million. It's monopoly money according to Moshiri and lads like this, who WANT to play for US, don't come around often.

Anyone who thinks he's not worth is clueless in the extreme.

André Gomes wants permanent Everton deal after rejecting West Ham United

Gomes spent last season on loan at Everton

André Gomes has indicated he wants to join Everton on a permanent basis with the club also hopeful Leighton Baines will sign a new one-year contract.
Gomes spent last season on loan at Everton from Barcelona and his impressive performances attracted interest from around the Premier League.
However, the midfielder has rejected advances from West Ham United, while Tottenham Hotspur are also no longer in the running to sign him.

Marco Silva, the Everton manager, admitted at the end of the season that Gomes had not made a decision on his future, but it is understood that the 25-year-old has now intimated he sees his future on Merseyside. Everton will now have formal discussions with Barcelona for the player, who has previously been valued at £27 million.

The development is a boost for Silva, who expects Baines, 34, to take up the offer of an extended contract. Baines is a free agent this summer, but has been in talks with the club since the closing weeks of the season about remaining as back-up left back to Lucas Digne.

Everton’s offer of a short-term extension was not reciprocated to club captain Phil Jagielka, who has ended his 12-year stay at Goodison. Jagielka will not be the only departure with the club’s sporting director Marcel Brands seeking to trim a bloated squad. Everton’s need for striking reinforcements has intensified with Cenk Tosun to miss the start of the season with a knee injury sustained for Turkey against Greece last week.

I think for many reasons the deal has been done a long time ago
The player has all the power , if he has told Barca it’s Everton or I sit on your bench there’s nothing Barca can do
Gomes knows we offer him the best chance to re build his career
Think Barca may also have said if you stay it will be on the bench.

Absolutely mad that people can say £30m Is a steal but at the same time say accepting £30m for gana is a no brainer. If 29 year olds aren’t worth £30m then Gomes is going to start depreciating in value the second he signs.

I should say I want Gomes to sign, just peoples twisted logic makes me laugh.
