It's not though. He wasn't fit when he joined and took time to get up to speed. Now he's bedded in nicely he can improve massively on last season. Absolute steal for that price. Solanke went to Bournemouth for 5m less lol

imo.

I personally would like us to play a 3 man midfield with no number 10. So I have no issue with Gana going this summer and Siggurdsson next summer.
I see Gomes a bit like Dembele, who joined spurs at a similar age and struggled for a season and then becoming a beast fir the next 3 or 4 years.

Also his stats for goals & assists were never great, but he was so strong and technically great. He helped them dominate the middle of the pitch in so many games.

He is not going to be a squad player, for one.

Two, why are we losing Gana and Sigurdsson?

Three, Gomes-Gana-Gylfi was a v good trio for two thirds of the times they played together. There was that crappy bit in the middle when the entire team were dire.

He didn't really take time to get up to speed. He was absolutely superb when he first came into the side, pretty much all of his best performances came in the first 6/7 games he played. He had a very worrying dip in form for a couple of months when, to be honest, he looked absolutely useless, but he came good again in the weeks before his stupid sending off. He's a very good player, but £25m is the top end of his value IMO, not quite a steal.
 
Didn’t he win the GOT player of the season based on votes across the match days? Yet people are suggesting he only had a handful of good games? £25m is a bargain
