You think Gomes was trying at the end there? When somebody just walked past him at the edge of the six yard box to score? He must be really bad if that was him trying.
 

Looked like the player who stunk the place out at Barca. Needs to move on from it and not let his head go like it did there.
 
Didn’t look ready to go, was lethargic and couldn’t be bothered to play defense in the first half. As Disgraceful performance I’ve seen in a while
 
I said it in the match thread at halftime but these are the types of performances that make 25m a fair price for him. Games like tonight just can't happen. You can have off nights but this was a level below that.

Suddenly Morgan Schneiderlin might be a first XI option again. Wild times.

I didn’t compare him to Schneiderlin. You’ve just made that up so only one of us is being weird. I just said if Schneiderlin played like he often does (and it is often, tonight might have been the worst but not by far) he’d get a lot more stick. He sometimes looks like he’s not trying, because he just fouls people rather than trying to run with them or whatever but people make excuses for him, like you are now.

Gomes possibly improve the more he adapts to the pace of the Prem
Sigurrson... anonymous tonight and past his best for Premiership
And why the F....does this no mark even appear.... Schneiderlin total waste ......
3 mid fielders and tonight none of them created one chance for the team ...........
