Great to see him back. One thing he does need to do next season when he's back up to speed is add goals to his game.
Seen a comparison with bruno fernandes in the United game. Fernandes had 3 shots to Andre's 0.
Think were OK up front, but going forward in a 442 next season the midfield seriously needs to contribute more goals if we're gonna get top 6.
We'll surely buy a right sided player capable of pushing double figures.
For gomes, however, a realistic target would be 5 league goals, especially if he's to be the more advanced of the midfield two.
Anyway not slagging the guy off, just food for thought.

You realise Fernandes is primarily a goal scoring midfielder/10? Whereas Andre is more of a deep lying playmaker?

Fernandes is an 8/10. The point is of even if he's not a 'kaka' he still needs to weigh in with a couple of goals.
Its really not a big ask considering his ability.
The evidence was there against wolves last season. He just needs to do that a bit more. I. E. Get around the box.
And Gomes is a 6/8.
His job is to sit, break up play and drive the ball forward.
I think thats part of the problem, people have an idea of what he SHOULD be doing, not what his role in the side is.
Now I will say he should certainly be chipping in with more goals, but its a little like wondering why Gana didnt score more.

In an ideal world we'd get another centre midfielder who can defo slot.
Option either gomes and a new mobile defensive mid if we wanna be Conservative/solid.
Or If we wanna be more attacking defensive mid and the midfielder whose more attacking instead of andre.
I mean gylfi would be ideal if his legs hadn't gone
Saying that, i really only see us buying one centre mid this summer tops.
You see im not even sure what we need, 442 in 2020 is proper weird and with us having no idea what Gmblammo is its hard to say what we need.
We need creativity and we need goals from midfield, we need somebody who dominates and controls the game, I doubt any such player exists, maybe the boy Neves at Wolves off the top of my head.
