2019/20 Andre Gomes

Very lethargic, impersonated the Siggurdson ghost circa February 2020 defensively, and didn't think he added a lot going forward. With that said, has excuses, and perhaps I am looking too hard, but I reckon he has a slight limp now, that injury has to have left some sort of legacy.

I’m hoping he’s just very short of fitness due to the injury and time off. We can’t expect him to play every game once they’re coming every three days starting Monday.

Yeah, he was slow and off the pace today. But I thought he did well towards the end to help break up play.

We really need a fast midfielder next to him to break up play and let him do his thing.

Awful performance, slow, weak got bullied. I know they had 3 midfielders, even though Richarlison was coming back to get around ndidi. How do him and siggurdsson not hold their own. Against tielemans & praet.

After their goal and Davis coming on to make a 3, they still couldn’t get near them, I thought Leicester had 15 players on the pitch. Finding loads of space around our box it was shocking. Leicester players running of the back of them, not marking or tracking runners. To be fair siggurdsson isn’t really a midfielder.

But I don’t see how Gomes plays in a midfield 2 moving forward.

Looks like he is carrying a piano at the moment. You would think he would have a bit more in his legs considering the rest they had. Hopefully he can build up to it he is still recovering after all.

These days I defo know the feeling of seeing things, tryI got to execute it, and your body just doesn’t react the same as what it did years ago. Gomes looks like he goes through this every game.

Been non existent in the 3 games after the resumption.

He actually looked sharper before lockdown when he had come back from his awful injury.

It makes whether he is going to be good enough for a 4-4-2 a legitimate question.
Could probably put half the times he got dribbled past down to tiredness, but the other 50 times was just him being an atrocious 1 on 1 defender

Comfortably the most technically gifted of all our options in centre mid mind you and he brings some much needed composure, but he has some worrying flaws in his game

Obviously still getting back to his best.

I'm not worried. Whoever is getting on his back needs to wind their neck in. It was only this season his ankle was utterly shattered.

Thats a complete myth - He's never been the fastest or mobile before his injury.

You only never noticed it as much last season as he had Gana mopping up for him whereas now we have a snail in Siggurdsson alongside him
