I wouldn't be itching to get rid of him just yet. Maybe he hasn't panned out to the degree we all wanted, but I still think he could be a useful player in some managers' systems. It really just depends on who the next manager is for me.

What system could he be useful in? Name a standout attribute he has.

I'm thinking back to pre-injury especially (though there have been a few flashes here and there since). When he was playing at his best, he was the best of our midfielders at keeping the ball in a crowd. When he would use his size / strength, sometimes other players would just sort of bounce off him. And then he was really our best midfielder pre-James at making a proper long-distance, cross-field or up-field pass.

Granted, what I'm saying would require him to recapture that best form and then mostly keep it going, but if he could, that ball-keeping, long-distance passing could definitely be useful in a midfield where other players are doing more of the running / tackling. That's why he's always looked his best in a 3-man midfield for us, I think.
