It can’t be enjoyable for him, knowing that you don’t have the pace or physicality to play in this league. You’d think he’d want to move back to Spain or Portugal where a slower pace might suit him better. He should want to go, the club should definitely want him to go, not sure why he’s still here taking up a massive wage. Unless it is just for that massive wage but it’s a short career, go enjoy it.

I can’t see who’s want him over there, especially if he has big wages, which knowing Everton he has.

Hope at least one positive comes from that horror show performance, that Frank realizes he cant be relied on even in a limited capacity. He somehow regressed even further today than his standard mediocre baseline showings.

Exactly. You're trying to get two centre backs who aren't ball playing ones...to be ball playing centre backs. Which is fine but the rest of the back 4 have to offer options or just punt it.

Just have to grin and bare it until Lamps gets someone who can do the job.

Yes exactly, and you can see how nervous they both look when they get it.

The opposition target them as soon as they get it, knowing there are mistakes in them.

This is what I don’t get. Gomes and others in the squad fluctuate massively from really not bad to absolutely atrocious from week to week. You really can not rely on them to turn in consistent performances week to week

No it hasn’t, it was a broken ankle, he was out for 8 weeks. Injuries that slow you down are complex muscle injuries. He’s just not a very good player and really he’s never been that good, we should just accept that reality at this point.

I’ve been a big fan of Gomes, I think he’s decent player on his day which he has even showed this season either from the bench or recently against Brentford but we can’t rely on him- he’s too inconsistent and today was one of the worst halves of football I’ve seen from a midfielder.

I do think he was fouled for the first goal though.

You have to have great vision and skill to play in this league with his limited mobility, unfortunately he posses neither

Todays performance is beyond reproach,that’s it I don’t care who plays instead of him ,he’s one of 4 out of todays lineup I’d punt into the Mersey asap

Needed to bring in another midfielder in the window instead of El Ghazi, when Doucoure’s out we end up having to use Gomes and the pace of the Premier League is too quick for him. He’ll flatter to deceive every now and again e.g. Arsenal off the bench and Brentford but he’s way too inconsistent. Need to be moving him on in the summer.
