The decision was made over 2 weeks ago when the window closed and we couldnt replace him.

No matter what you say, Gomes is needed.

We have 6 midfielders and we normally play 3, it would be beyond stupid to leave ourselves short with only 5, 1 of which is Dele, who has no return date.

I mean most games we play 4 of the 6, with Garner playing wide right.

Its also VERY possible that nobody even bid for him.

Bidding for him isn't exactly "having discussions". Didn't Lyon like him enough to try to bring him in on a permanent but he didn't agree to wages? So the whole bidding would have been a waste of time.

To be fair we should at least have him and Alli doing 40 hours in the two Everton stores. It's crazy to think they're collecting almost quarter million a week between them and they aren't expected to do any work at all for it.

That's French football though, his issue (even pre-injury) is that he wants far too much time on the ball, his decision making just isn't quick enough for this league then he gets frustrated and commits silly fouls.

What's wrong with the French league, plenty of good players there. This league isn't the dogs bollox outside of a few teams.

I never said there was anything wrong with it, just a different pace of game that's all. If you dislike the PL so much then don't watch it.

Can’t believe I’m here to defend Andre Gomes but against Luton what we needed was someone to take an extra second on the ball to pick the right pass rather than the panic hoofball we played all second half.

I can’t see him starting games but if we are paying him there are times we should use him.

He just doesn't suit the league for me, he has had one half decent game since he has been here imo against the RS and the rest of the time he frustrates. As for the using him because he is here, well we don't actually want him here, the manager and club both want him gone but we can't sell him because of the crazy wages he is on. He is just another very average player we have collected up and can't move on at the end of the day.
