He's one of those players where he makes things happen round about him, not many players can cross accurately with both feet, personally I think he's a good addition to the squad.

Early days yet but looking like his signing might have a touch of Kilbane about it. Very shrewd acquisition if he keeps contributing to the team. Early days but hopefully a sign of things to come

When we got that free kick yesterday, I immediately thought Townsend.

Digne came & out ranked him & did his usual, hit the wall.

He definitely needs to be on free kicks & corners with that cross of his. Could be like Hinchcliffe.

To borrow a phrase from Ronseal, he does exactly what it says on the tin. A solid, reliable and composed performance with a clear ability when crossing.

He's not going to set the world alight but he could or should be a competent member of the squad this season.

His debut was good, along with Gray, one thing i will say it was good management from Rafael to take them both off when he did, Towsend hadn't done anything wrong, and possibly could of seen the game out but by taking him off he left on a high with an assist. A very experienced managerial move and an excellent debut from Townsend.
