I'm a United fan that has watched Elanaga at both youth level and for the first team and I actually think he's a decent player that should have gone on loan last year to continue his development. He's fast, he works his ass off (I've never once considered him lazy on the pitch), and when he was in the youth team he was a good finisher so I think he'll improve on that aspect. He WAS a crucial player in the youth set up, he scored plenty of goals as a winger and that's why he was called up to the first team in the first place.
Its a false narrative that he's 'always been crap since the youth team' and I think his performances this season (which I admit were poor) have soured fans on him and they are going over the top in their criticism. He's not better than Amad and Pellistri, I agree with that, and he isn't a world beater, but he's got a few exceptional attributes that can't be taught and can develop other parts of his game as he's still very young. If you can get him for under 10 million I genuinely think he'd be worth it for you.
Anyways, just my opinion, and wanted to share since not all United fans think he's hopeless or no good.
