Played on the front foot but honestly he was the only one.

A lot of questions to be asked about the rest of our attacking elements.

My fear is we are overplaying him
Nah he’s 21 not 16. People are massively over egging the age thing in that sense. He’s young enough to continue improving and not reach his best for a few more years but he’s not so young that being a key player is in any way odd.

Anthony's rise into the squad and performances have been one of the few plusses this season.

Rooney, Owen and a crop of others remain a warning to over-playing him. There's also the fact he's been bright and showed effort, that's looked doubly great in a really poor Everton side, so hope we don't overstate his potential and over rely on him too soon.

Give him time, a game a week and sub him if there's nothing doing. Lots more good times ahead for this young man, we don't need to crock him amidst trying to save a squad that's pretty rotten from the core.

Fast becoming the most valuable asset (player wise) on the books.

Yup. And he doesn't even have to do much to warrant that level.

At one point 5-0 down he was sprinting back to stop yet another attack. Something as basic and fundamental as that immediately puts him as one of our better performers, before considering his all round development this season.

Just had a skim through the first ten pages...

Rinsing Gordon while defending the signing of Rondon. Never change GOT, never change.

Over playing him could be a concern, but amongst the impressive improvements he’s made this season is in his stamina and ability to go 90 mins which wasn’t there early last season. His energy in tracking back , and keeping it going throughout the match puts the older sloths to shame.

The funny thing is that two years ish ago there was an article about how he had hired a fitness pro and was doing alot of sessions to get his fitness and strength up.

A season ago people compared him to Deulofeu because he was gassed well before 90mins was up.

Now he's charging around all game and actually running past his team mates to press players theyve been too lazy to close down.

Its a massive improvement and one that shows good character and a desire to improve.

If he can improve in other areas too then we'll have some player on our hands.

The only other time this season ive seen similar was when Branthwaite partnered Keane a while back and looked to be the senior of the two in terms of both experience and ability.

Lampard is just the man for both of them.
