What fee a player is quoted at and what he eventually goes for can be very different things. They can quote £40m but if one serious team is only offering £20m and they need to sell, they may need to take it.
There are other factors at play. I think around £30m only if he leaves, which I do not think he will. If he leaves, I think it is because we need the money, which will impact the fee.

30m would be too low for one of the best young players in the league IMO.
If he is a 2nd sale as well, there will be less pressure to sell so we can demand more.

Hard to think of many better young players.
Thats been often said about him ,i looked again at the Chelsea and Palace games.And seen two established Premier players loose their heads with him both should have been sent off because he is so difficult to mark.Graeme Souness said in pre match talk he is a Scouser and if you give him stick he will come back for more ,next season i can see lots of players getting booked and sent off marking him thats what he does [HE WILL BE IN THE WORLD CUP SQUAD ] he as something that no other player has he is not scared of any thing or any player.

It is hard to think of more important young players in a team, because he was vital for Everton last season, but that does not mean better. He does not score or create enough for a 21 year old.
Look at similar age players in the Premier League only, he contributes less than Kulusevski, Foden, Saka, Smith-Rowe, Mbeumo even Hudson Odoi and Neto.

I havent checked, but how many of them are younger than Gordon?
Or play in a team as bad as ours was. I doubt Smith Rowe et al gave us what Gordon did (including fantastic defensive work).
And he will get better and more composed in front of goal.
