The boy was superb today, im not afraid to admit when he has good games, seems to be getting better weekly.

Just proves the point that he should have been playing all along. We need to stop stunting development and introduce youngsters into the team earlier. No need to go crazy, but give them a freakin chance.

You'll get that with Lampard. He'd rather play a kid if he thinks the opponent tactically suits them, have them make some mistakes and improve as a result. He's not one to play the expensive signings over and over.

It's part of why he was mismatched with Chelsea as a manager in the first place.

Thought Gordon and Gray played more as inside forwards today and told not to just hug the touchline. That gave Gomes and Allan more space in midfield.

Delighted for Gordon. Quite a few people don't really appreciate the development curve for younger players. Gordon is a classic example of one being written off way too early and classed as Championship level at best.

Most are still growing up to 21. It takes time to build the strength and stamina for the PL. I always thought he had talent and felt he would develop if given opportunities to play. That has proven the case.

We now need to develop Simms, Dobbin and Onyango in a similar way.

It's daft to argue against the proposition that Benitez made Gordon a first team player.

It is but not worth arguments about Benitez as it will wind loads of people up. Today is for a positive view to the future.
