Nuts they'd spend £45m on him, nuts we'd reject it. All round nuts.
They will up the bid again, I think we are right not to blink

I'm a firm believer that if the club has a valuation, they should stick to it. I don't see why that should change.Got a horrible image of this happening when we realise how ludicrous £45m would be to turn down.

I'm thinking 50-55, anywhere in that range
Their new big hank of an owner is throwing it about, just wait and let him outbid himself
Stick to the valuation. We have no financial need to sell. They will up the bid again, I think we are right not to blink
Next offer simply has to be accepted if anywhere near 50m

I do honestly think it's crazy from Chelsea, as decent as Gordon is and as much potential as he has.
I'd love him to stay btw, and be able to add a decentish striker and midfielder as I think that'd be enough to keep us safe. But if they do offer £50m, then we have to take it imo.

I feel we'll get £45m + add-ons to £50-55m, if a deal is done, and that a large proportion of that money will be in the initial downpayment (like £20m).If you bid 45m in a negotiation and the other side ask for 50m, then it's very unlikely you walk away. That's only 10%, we aren't talking 50% difference here.
And if they do walk away then we keep the player. It's no big deal.
But we very much have a footballing reason to sell as the lad offers very little on the pitch and I very much doubt he will add that to his game at a Everton or anywhere else for that matter. The money can be used to get in two or more attacking players that are more prolific, which we are desperate for. It’s a dangerous game we’re playing imo turning down 45 million for the likes of Gordon. Chelsea could easily move on to other targets and then we’re lumbered with a player who’s had his head turned.Stick to the valuation. We have no financial need to sell.

He’s going. The allies are already laying the groundwork
Will also be a 5 year contract. Any extra we squeeze out of them at this point won’t even make tiniest dent in their accounts when spread over 5 years. If you bid 45m in a negotiation and the other side ask for 50m, then it's very unlikely you walk away.
