I like the lad Fred. Probably should sell at the prices been quoted but can guarantee we won’t replace him with a better player.
I don't want to sell either Jimmy. But he's one for the future and the offer is incredibly generous. If selling him means we strengthen other areas that will have a bigger impact for us now, then it makes sense.

As you say, with our recent track record there's no guarantee that we will spend the money well. But neither is there any guarantee that the lad will improve greatly either. Just think Jeffers, Barkley and Rodwell. None of them kicked on and were probably more highly thought of at the same age.

£60m for Gordon is a no brainer. Take away the fact that he is an Evertonian, he offers very little.

Doesn't score, doesn't assist or create and cant change games.

£60m is a ridiculous fee for him

Hopefully we get the deal done quick and a loan for Broja is included.

I suspect that 90% of fans think that the Chelsea bid for Gordon massively over values him and should be accepted on the basis that it frees the P&L pursestrings and allows us to bring in 3 attacking / creative players that could transform our fortunes.

Unfortunately the same 90 % have very limited faith in the Everton recruitment team.

Strap yourselves in for the rollercoaster.

I want to know who the other 10% are???

60 million is good money. but everton would go out and buy more squad wingers , more than likely, that lack pace, and then still have no striker because dcl will be fit in 3 months.

If it is 60m then sell, no question.

It's getting to silly money for someone who still remains relatively unproven. Yes he has potential, but with that money we could totally rebuild the side, drag ourselves out of our current malaise and put any threat of profit and loss issues behind us for good.

Can't believe someone wants to pay more than Sterling cost for the boy, is there some kind of panic at Chelsea at the moment?

The second we sell Gordon for 50 plus million all of the prices of any player we enquire about will double. Can't risk overpaying for players who can't take us forward I reckon.

Mate, you’re using logic there, which unfortunately alludes Everton football club.

Leeds, Villa, Wolves… buy everyone then agree to the sale. Everton, wait til last minute to drive up the prices.
