Everton look set to turn down monster Chelsea offer for Gordon

Ha ha. Bill's choreography is time-honoured. Deny any need or willingness to sell, protest that the player will not go for less than ridiculous millions, then slowly plant the seed that the player wants a move before intimating that he was in tears on the phone overnight, and the club had no option but to reluctantly concede to his heart-broken demands and accept the fee with only moments remaining in the by-now effectively "slammed shut" window. We'll go with what we have.

Only Chelsea news minutes ago.....
Guff source.

But it seems like Everton will turn that down – perhaps unsurprisingly given their perilous relegation situation.

That surely means the end of Chelsea’s interest too – there’s no way we should be going above £60m for a player who barely has the body of work to justify a fee half that big.

Sounds like a 12 year old wrote that.

As he posted on here too lol

That means we undersold Rhico.......
Probably it's the difference between having to sell before the 30th of June 2022 with Richy and not having to sell with Gordon. Don't think that you can always compare transfer fees as there are a number of outside factors. I suspect that there was also a gentleman's agreement with Richy that he could leave this summer and his agent would have been letting teams know that this was the case. At the same time if we hadn't sold Richy before 30/6 it could have dragged on all summer wreaking more havoc on our transfer strategy.

Yeah, I can see the thinking though. I think that’s been a big part of Spurs’ interest too, both have at times even been linked with Adama Traore as a wing back option so clearly the thinking is that when you are a dominant team the “wing” is more important than the “back”.

Gordon’s work rate and defensive contribution will have been a key factor that caught their eye.

Funny thing is though, if that’s what they are after we have an actual natural RWB who is younger and I suspect will turn out to be better.
Is lack of end product is not a big a concern in a wing back position, I can see the thinking to.

What transfer strategy is that we have ?

Saved again by the sale of a player to cover up how useless he is at running a club Rooney Arteta Gordon I just hope he doesn’t embarrass himself again like he did with Rooney “mummy there taking our boy “ hahahah what a strap on
haha we have just had 6 years of Moshiri ownership but you blaming the previous owner haha
