Hurry up, it's a very simple transfer to make. He won't be on much at Everton. Chelsea will likely quadruple his salary, Everton will ask for £40m up front with the rest coming next year or so. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to finalise.

Personal terms all agreed. Gordon wants the move and agent has told Everton he wants to go to Chelsea. No transfer request has currently been submitted to the club.

Chelsea are currently in talks with us over a deal worth 60m including all add ons. Everton trying to get their ‘ducks in order’ before sanctioning any agreement.

But he will leave a huge hole in this squad.

I’ve not seen enough from this regime to form a judgment as to my level of trust that we’ll reinvest effectively.

That’s my main concern. We can’t lose him and not do something useful with the cash.
