It’s a gamble that he’ll maybe be worth £20 million more. If we were loaded or assured of staying up then I’d take that gamble. But seeing as neither of those things are true, we have to sell.

You could look at it a different way, we sell him have 0 forwards and wide forwards and make a dogs dinner of bringing in replacements - not unlike us - with a week to go in the window and most of the most wanted signings and quality have already moved. We get relegated.

Much of the for argument, is based on a subjective assumption, that we reinvest well - every chance we won’t - or given ourselves too much to do with no time and limited availability of players.

I just want clarity at this point. The longer it goes with no decision the harder it is for us to rebuild a squad that can win football matches.
