He’s stepped up massively.

Look at other players who’ve downed tools when big clubs have come in for them.

He doesn’t have the pure ability of a Rodwell or Barkley but he’s strong mentally and has big weapons in his pace. The finishing ability he showed at youth level coming through now too.

He’s only going to keep getting better. Let’s build a side around him.

Definitely would say Barkley was more talented but his mentality was abysmal. Remember him often looking a bag of nerves failing to have any impact on a game. Nothing seems to phase Gordon however. If he spends his whole career playing with this approach he'll do well.

This lad’s end product is one of the worst I’ve seen, ever.

I think it is better too largely which is why I want to sell the 17th best first choice left wing in the league for exuberant money and try to find someone better. And on top of that we might just have a few extra to buy a real backup striker.

A gift on a literal silver platter and we've wiped our butts with it instead.

We've screwed Chelsea out of an insane amount of money... just get it done quickly and reinvest (ideally do this before we sell).

It's not just the last two games though is it?

Gordon and Richarlison pretty much saved this club from the drop last season...then we had the 'clever people' telling us he needs to be sold because he's not even a decent PL winger....all because they wanted to see a couple of scabby players bought with a thimbleful of Gordon's talent.

FFS, that needs pulling.

Ironically I thought overall that wasnt one of his better games this season, but his movement for the 2 goals hes scored so far, and how clinical he has been has been fantastic, and a big step forward on last season.

What was also so pleasing was how he picked the pass for Gray, Patterson and to a lesser degree Mykolenko to get them in. In honesty, moments of quality/ composure that see him shine out above the other players.

Should be absolutely the core of the team that we build around for the next few years.

Anything less than a British record fee should be laughed at.
