2022/23 Anthony Gordon

He wasn’t good today but he was still our best forward. We don’t have a forward line, our goal threat comes from our centre halves and set pieces.

I dont think he's our best anything. I begrudge to even call him top scorer. At this stage of the season, scoring 1 Hattricks worth of goals should not count to being a top scorer. It's pathetic.

To be fair, i absolutely despise the arrogant little kopite rat, so i should probably remove myself from the conversation.

He makes my blood boil.

That failed flip flap today in our own half with noone near him summed him and his massively inflated ego up more than any haircut, beige tracksuit, or deluded belief that he deserves a new contract ever could. And this lad thought he might actually go to the world cup.

We are stuck with this no mark, and it's almost as utterly depressing as the inevitability of starting life at BMD in the Championship... If we're lucky.

Gordon received so much abuse from our fans during the Wolves game that I was embarrassed.

I couldn’t believe how dire the atmosphere was.

To those fans who criticise and sometimes even abuse our own players: do you seriously think it’ll make us play better?

I scoffed when the former England goalkeeper Ben Foster said that opposing teams love playing at Goodison because of how negative we fans are, but I’m starting to believe it.

I don't know what the exact figure ended up being but to not find a way to get the deal done in the summer was complete malpractice. Maybe Gordon still finds a way to be a high level winger but every passing week with little progress, not to mention little actual coaching and management, makes that possibility more and more remote. And you can spend that money on multiple players who will have a similar level of potential, some of whom may have even been better now. A complete disaster.

That's not a personal attack on Gordon either. It isn't his job to properly assess what he is and make decisions based on it, nor has he chosen to be managed incompetently.

In comparison to many players, he’s a seasoned PL player now. Commentators make out he’s our danger man and left backs should be terrified.

Went for the “cool” relaxed slot with his left foot today that would have had the same commentators praising his composure. Missed like a tit. Yes he made a great run, but that was an arrogant attempt.

I think Gordon has the fastest sprint speed in the PL before today? Their timid looking left back was utter crap and likes to normally get forward, but Gordon didnt really do anything dangerous.

Traore is an abysmal footballer, but his presence on the pitch completely changed Myko, Gray and one CM’s positioning as soon as he came on, because he knows where to position himself to use the one attribute he has -pace. And even if he doesn’t touch the ball, the mere threat of him creates 2 holes elsewhere. And they score.

Wolves left their crappy left back 1v1 against Gordon all afternoon with no fear. Even when he got beat, nothing actually happened. They weren’t worried about Gordon at all, and they’ve had weeks to watch tapes of him play this season. His name wasn’t even on their whiteboard.

Gordon is a good player, and I quite like it when he tries to leave a bit on the opponent in a challenge. He’s been in and around the 1st team for years and had 2 UCL teams trying to buy him. Age and inexperience can’t possibly still be his excuses. At what point can we actually start asking him to live up to the potential that Frank, Tuchel, Conte etc. all think he has?
Gordon is a bench player. Nice for the last 10 minutes. Running around when everybody is tired. He doesnt have a clue what to do on a football pitch. Its school yard football for him.

Works both ways.

If it wasn't for the fans, they'd have been relegated last season.

End of the day, it's asking them to perform and letting them know when they're not. We can jump a little to quickly but then that can change instantly.

Playing the team in the bottom 3 at home. We should be getting a result.

Getting on players backs against better teams is more down to the lack of intensity and letting teams play.

Moyes had it in spells but used it to make the side work hard.

This Everton side under Moshiri's reign has grafted in small bursts. Coasted for a large part, been awful for the majority.

Dont know why hes not leathering that from that angle, distance btw.

If he leathers it and the keeper guesses - it was effectievly a moving penalty, then okay, keepers made a top save, but like he put ALL his eggs on the keeper diving to his left and pee rolled it the other way.

He’s awful. Before the hype train got to him, he looked like a nervous wreck, who tried hard, but could ever get his head up.

Now, he has a weird arrogant aura, and I can’t fathom why? He can’t run at defenders, he can’t cross, he can’t shoot. He’s bloody dreadful.

We turned down £60m, can’t believe it.
