Some fans need to look at themselves a wee bit. Received far too much abuse for a young player.
While that’s true and sections of the fan base should be embarrassed at the extent of some of it, his performances have warranted some criticism.
I suspect abuse or not a move was always on the cards for him at the earliest opportunity. I don’t believe the grief he got this season has in any way expedited his possible exit. I have the impression he wanted out asap regardless.
In some respects I can’t blame his as we are an absolute shambles, but I will not be particularly bothered at his loss. If his ceiling is yet to be attained, I don’t think he would have reached it with us anyway. FWIW I’m not sure he will improve much, maybe he will get 4 goals and assists in a season, shouldn’t be that difficult to replace (unless you work in our recruitment dept)

McNulty leaking now, the deal is on and softening up has begun.

Well done Everton another failure.

How is it a failure? If you don't sell players when you can for good money how can you possibly ever rebuild? It is what we have been guilty of over this 6/7 year period.

We don't have the commercial deals to run as a profit to create the headroom and do you pay Gordon 100k a week to tie him down to a new deal yet further weakening the balance sheet? Else you run the risk he could go for nothing later on. If he was playing well and said I'm happy with 30k a week then that is a totally different scenario.

We need to act to progress, if you have almost the complete team and you sell a "star" player (not sure that applies here) it is painful - when we have crap all around we need to the funds to get three or four in that you may get further windfalls later on down the line or those four players along with the few decent ones we have make up a team that is looking forward and not over the shoulders.

The guy is garbage. Scores a couple of mishit goals a season and some people start drooling over him like he's the next Messi.

Some of you blaming the club for his poor performances. The guy is just cack. No idea why Newcastle want him but glad he's going.

Guy thinks he is way better than he is and offers very little. Never has his head up, rarely puts any good balls in the box and is a selfish player with poor shooting ability.

Glad some mug of a club is prepared to spend decent money on him.
