Yeah he was decent young player but you only have to watch the Sunderland documentary to see how much he had thrown in the towel, injuries play a part but if he was highly talented he would still have had a decent top flight career, he didn’t.
If I remember correctly, City at the time were struggling for home grown players, he was just bought as part of the quota.
If you dont think he was highly talented you are too young to have seen him at the start. Other than Rooney of course, no other young player came near him.

Mad really that he confirmed in his first Newcastle interview that his head had been turned by their interest in the summer.

"Since I heard of the interest in the summer I was convinced that Newcastle was the choice for me"

Probably the reason why he's put in next to no effort for us and went to such lengths to ensure the move happened this past week. Really poor attitude and huge level of disrespect towards the club that essentially made him.

Very good deal for us that, considering his poor goal & assist output. It only becomes a “brilliant” deal for us if we replace him well.

He’s got talent there but obviously has his issues, still quite raw & we needed goals now.

In true Everton fashion though he’ll score on his debut & be superb for them.

As most have already said, it’s a good deal providing he is replaced and improved upon.
Just bothered by his statement though where he says the usual rubbish and then that it was the right time to leave….. (yeah in January when we are second from bottom, made worse that he pushed for the move.)
He’d have been better off not bothering making a statement!?
