Is it just me that wouldn't be too bothered about rushing Distin back? Even if he is fit I would look at partnering Jags and Alcaraz for the derby as personally I feel Distin has kittens against Suarez. Having a more savvy centre half in there may help as it is not like we have to worry about the oaf that is Carroll anymore.

Only worry about that mate would be a lack of pace, then again arsenal seem to manage without much pace at cb fine, actually think Alcaraz may be better in the air than Distin as he gets up very well and attacks the ball so maybe solve the set piece fiasco of the first game

Yeah and I would agree with that mate. Suppose I think Jags is mobile enough to deal with Suarez and Alcaraz may be more suited to dealing with Suarez than Distin is, I feel what Distin offers doesn't really lend itself to Derby games and truth be told these past two game have further confirmed what I initially thought that Distin is easily our weakest CB with the ball and worries me the most when in possession.

Have you been to Asuncion before? I spent 4 days there in June, taking in the Paraguay v Chile WC qualifier. Decent little city, but with a well favela down by the river which Borders Argentina. But no hassles whatsoever in the centre of town, in fact the,locals were very friendly. Cheap to eat and drink out.

Oh, and the birds were better there than we saw in Brazil or Uruguay. They all seemed to have massive tits. Might thumbs up from me!
