No, seriously though, I would be reluctant because of what happened last year as Moomin mentioned. I think though...I'd prefer Stones/Alcaraz over Stones/Distin because in fairness we have more bad memories of Sylvain in derbies than we do of Alcaraz.

Imo they never work well as a partnership - too similar and not good enough communication to cover for each other. Prefer one CB who likes to sit (Jags/Distin) and one who is happy bringing the ball out to midfield (Stones/Alcaraz)

He does have an uncanny ability to win headers on set pieces. That's one of our biggest problems for some reason.

I know this isn't popular around here, but in my opinion, Alcaraz is a decent defender with tremendous ball skills, and a serious aerial threat. That's why with Stones out for at least a game or two, I hope Alcaraz gets his chance next to Jags. Anyone agree?

I like the fact that he is a moody South American centre half, from one of the less popular countries too.

Got to give the lad a chance now, we haven't got much choice. He is a centre back with premier league experience, good on the ball and better in the air than our other options at the moment.

I stand to be shot down in flames here, but, I think he'll do ok

He moves around like Roy Chubby Brown. Impressive on the ball but we need a centre back with some pace next him to accommodate his slowness.

I'd still use Distin as 3rd choice CB, that's if he ever comes back mind.
