to my memory when he came in last season he looked pretty good. and was excellent in his distribution.

he was atrocious in the derby, but wasn't everyone? and he was rushed back from injury for that game if memory serves me correctly

Found it interesting that Alcaraz was on the right and Jags continued on the left - think Jags & Alcaraz have only been paired once before (at the horrendous derby) and could have sworn it was the other way around then.

Guess Jags is feeling happier on the left after playing there quite a bit recently for both us and England.

Jags was also the one of the two that seemed to be playing slightly further ahead and brought the ball out more whilst Alcaraz stayed behind. Given his lack of pace, and Jags current confidence, think that was an excellent decision as it minimised our chances of getting caught out on the counterattack.

Was really good today. Distin would have struggled in the air against Benteke, Alcaraz made it look easy. Calm distribution as well. If he stays fit can tie us over until Stones returns.

I thought ALcatraazazaz did ok, Villa are awful going forward, so it was never gonna be a big test, but you can only "beat" whats infront of you and I thought he did alright.
