Again, to paraphrase, I like you too, your 2nd to last (in a poll I did with my friends regarding popularity of GOT members). Weapon of choice: the Qweglet. See you at dawn.

I agree with the last window, but next Summer window Alcatraz and Distins contracts both expire and I think its doubtful either will be given a new 1.

....yep, but in 12 months Browning and Galloway might be ready for the step up. RM will know if that's the case and if it is the transition from old to new could be seamless. If not we will invest.

Once we get a couple of points on the board it will be time to start giving Browning game time. Start the seamless transition. Could have Stones and Browning at the centre of defence for years to come. Pity we are out of league cup, could have been the perfect competition to bring a few on. Still can't have everything, 3-0 will do for today.

You play him deep you won't get any problems from him. Play him higher up or don't protect him (e.g. Liverpool away, City at home) then good players will exploit his lack of pace by either playing through balls (e.g. Gerrard to Suarez/Sturridge) or just burst straight past him (e.g. Aguero).

Then if you look at how he's played when he's played deeper, particularly Stoke away last year, he's very solid indeed.

it was a nap we were getting him as soon as we got Roberto

he's adequate cover but he ain't the future, we need a Jimmy Sticks to go with our Johnny Stones

Have been scathing regards Alcaraz previously, but today he did well. Lets not pretend, Villa were not at the races and will be much more of a handful when Benteke is match fit and match sharp, but credit where its due Alcaraz stepped in today and showed off his moves. Clean sheet to boot.

Found it interesting that Alcaraz was on the right and Jags continued on the left - think Jags & Alcaraz have only been paired once before (at the horrendous derby) and could have sworn it was the other way around then.

Guess Jags is feeling happier on the left after playing there quite a bit recently for both us and England.

Jags was also the one of the two that seemed to be playing slightly further ahead and brought the ball out more whilst Alcaraz stayed behind. Given his lack of pace, and Jags current confidence, think that was an excellent decision as it minimised our chances of getting caught out on the counterattack.
reading this thread and realized alcaraz played on the right side today just as I read your post. I can only remember him playing left before for us, he linked so well with seamus today. Always on the move, positional sense was great and his passing between their lines was fantastic.
