Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

Even if this a signing that has come more through Moshiri, I'm not sure its so bad on a loan as agreed by Benitez. It had been widely reported that Rafael wanted a wide man, but with Gordon, Gray, Townsend, Richarlison and Iwobi on the books, I don't think a permanent deal for anyone is a good idea.

Instead, Rafael gets a wide man in on loan with prem experience (nice option to buy at under £10m) and we keep funds to strengthen other areas - hopefully CB.

I've got no issue with Moshiri suggesting signings as long as they are signed off by the manager/DOF. The Athletic article clearly states Rafael was happy with a loan for El Ghazi.

He'll have only been able train today I imagine, though then again he's been training with Villa this entire time so he should be okay.

They think. I am not having it that none of the last 5 managers under Mosh have once stated that he interfered in trannies, not once despite them all being sacked/forced out etc. YIu would think ONE of them would make reference to it being the reason their teams were underperforming. In fact I don't think either Walsh or Marcel even mentioned it, despite the fact it would have been in direct conflict with their roles.
The only people who mention it are outside of the club....

….Managers have come in, used to working with the players they are given. Moshiri is on record himself as saying he brought in Tosun, without betraying the confidence of somebody respected on here who is close to the club I’m sure he also brought Iwobi in.

i don’t for one moment believe Moshiri is bringing in rafts of players but he’s meddling.

On the basis of Twitter rumours? Absolutely not

They know no more than I do. They listen to rumours like everybody else.
Any they think may be true, they repeat or add to/rehash to make them seem 'exclusive'
They never reveal THEIR sources . . . yet people qoute THEM as being a 'reliable source'
The idea that they know no more than you is purely your opinion, and I disagree. Also, no journalist ever reveals their sources because they’re not absolutely daft.

I get the feeling he is going to be boss for us until the end of the season.

Then of course we will either sign him for silly money in the summer and he will end up being crap or we wont sign him and he will go somewhere else and be a world beater.

The Tosun situation is not that straight forward. He went with Brands to Watch Tosun and he agreed with Brands and sanctioned the deal, he did not just buy him without consultation.
I say it again, there is no evidence that Mosh is just buying players he wants, we would have heard more from managers and DOF's by now.

This is my fear,he plays well enough to be considered for a perm deal and we chuck one of our stupid contracts at him at which points he turns into Iwobi

Steve Walsh surely? Brands came in after Allardyce left. Unless they were mates beforehand I suppose.

This is my concern about the deal not that he's boss that would be great but that he comes in and does pretty well on loan leading us to buy him when he isn't actually of the standard we want or need in the longer term and end up with yet more players on the books who aren't good enough.

Nonsense that.

1. Brands wasn't here when we signed Tosun.
2. Allardyce tried to sign Tosun before he was at Everton for Palace, and after he left Everton for West Brom.
3. Allardyce wanted Tosun. Walsh was DOF - Moshiri, in my opinion, foolishly allowed money to be spend by an interim manager, and a DOF he knew was on borrowed time.
