I sympathise with him a lot (still don't want him as manager) as he inherited a truly spineless and talentless group of players if you take out all of those who have been out for so long injured.
Would any other manager in the world have us even in the top half if they had to continuously rely on Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Seamus Coleman, Salomon Rondon and Alex Iwobi, with the likes of Tom Davies, Jonjoe Kenny, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Cenk Tosun and Fabien Delph the 'best' options available in reserve? How are you going to win games with most or all of those players on the pitch at the same time?
Now that DCL, Richarlison, Mina, Doucoure, Godfrey are all back and reaching full fitness, and the two new full backs are in fully fit, there can be no more excuses. We heard the "the second half of the season will be better" line many times. Now is the time to show it, starting tomorrow. If he cannot put a run together in the next 5 games (at least 3 wins, I'd say), then he needs to go.
