Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

It just sums up our transfer policy that we are in a relegation battle but him along with our three other signings aren’t considered good enough to start.
We're in a relegation battle now precisely because £40M was spent in January to bring in 5 players and none of them apart from VDB appear good enough to get a game...and he's not going to prove the difference.

January may have laid the basis for relegation rather than avoided it.

If we had that transfer window over again I'd have bought a good-to-go RB a CB and a DMF. We'd now have been midtable.

It was the worst window we’ve had in Moshiri’s tenure, worse than the 2017 car crash. At least that summer we actually tried to strengthen in the positions we needed to. This January window just made absolutely no sense, I want to know why El Ghazi and Dele Alli were purchased.

It epitomised what went wrong with this club.

£40M to stand still rather than strengthen at a time of existential threat as a PL club.

Incredible.

Some day a book will be written about the Moshiri years and it'll be stranger than fiction.

Bolasie, Lennon, Walcott, Lookman, Townsend, Gray, El Ghazi...

We have failed to get the best out of our recent wingers.

Perhaps Gray has made the greatest contribution, although I would say Lookman had the most to offer.

Bolasie was the greatest disappointment. El Ghazi may now get a chance to show what he can do.

I completely forgot about him, no joke.

I can't believe Newcastle spent more wisely than we did.
