Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

We should have recalled Nkounkou instead of buying Mykolenko. Many will say he wasn’t ready, but we could have got through to the end of the season with Godfrey and Kenny there. Instead the money should have been spent at centre half to get in a no nonsense centre half to replace Keane and instead of El Ghazi we should have got a central midfielder in on loan, so we don’t have to see Gomes in the team. I have seen some strange transfer windows in my time supporting the blues, but this one is right up for being the worst in what we needed and didn’t get and the overall quality of the recruits brought in.

They followed Brands on the full backs, Moshiri loaned El Ghazi and Lampard wanted Alli and DVB. That's another window where too many people are controlling the recruitment. You end up with a mess.

A mess it was. Sadly it’s sealed our fate as it wasn’t what we needed. We needed players to go straight into the team in a relegation fight.
I hope you are wrong in terms of our fate because we have yet to see them all play consistently but so far you are right and I have a bad feeling you will be come the end of the season. CB for me was the biggest need followed by a DM and a right back, the fact we bought a right back not deemed good enough to start in a relegation fight whilst the first choice is 33 years old is a indictment.

He had a decent season last season scoring 11 and got 3 before we signed him this season. He is out of contract in the summer so in theory looking to win a new contract somewhere….. Signing made more sense than Alli tbf.
Surprised he’s not getting more of a look in, maybe with A.T. out for the season we’ll see if he can replicate his more recent form.

It made no sense. Wing is by far our deepest position and he's garbage mostly. He scores because he shoots everything and takes penalties.

Everton That........loan players too are better than what we have atm.....the lad at Sunderland is better that Rondon ......

Typical poor recruitment with no thought. Brought in because of the useless owner and his connections and that fat kopite wasting millions on fullbacks that aren’t ready.

He was a pawn in bigger game, El Fat Kopite Rat decided to wage a war, and El Ghazi somehow became part of money moving exercise
Spot on Chris, when I said this at the time, several people on here said that it was a good move, because he was not costing much money. It was difficult to get through to them that he was taking up a badly needed loan spot. Without this signing perhaps we could have brought in a centre back.

If we wanted a CB we could have offloaded 1 of the 5 we already have.
